Page<\/a> will discuss the work of the thirteenth-century <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Tremulous_Hand_of_Worcester\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;Tremulous Worcester Hand&#8221;<\/a>, concentrating upon the glossing.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/search.proquest.com\/openview\/a92cf610f7723a357da153265568eb2b\/1?pq-origsite=gscholar\" target=\"_blank\">Wendy Collier<\/a> will report the results of her dissertation on the annotations by this hand, which may reveal preparations for teaching in English.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/oxford.academia.edu\/DavidHowlett\" target=\"_blank\">David Howlett<\/a> will evaluate the text of a late eleventh-century lament in Latin for St Wulfstan.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dur.ac.uk\/history\/staff\/profiles\/?id=4318\" target=\"_blank\">Richard Gameson<\/a> will consider the decorated eleventh-century manuscripts from Worcester.<\/li>\n<li>Mildred Budny will survey the results of recent work on Worcester manuscripts at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, including results connected with conservation.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cambridge.org\/catalogue\/catalogue.asp?isbn=9781108002370\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"broken_link\">Catherine Hall<\/a> will examine the Samson Pontifical (Corpus <a href=\"http:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20160430045034\/https:\/\/parkerweb.stanford.edu\/parker\/actions\/manuscript_description_long_display.do?ms_no=146\" target=\"_blank\">MS 146<\/a>), which comprises both Winchester portions and eleventh-century Worcester Supplements.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/history.unm.edu\/people\/faculty\/profile\/timothy-graham.html\" target=\"_blank\">Tim Graham<\/a> will discuss <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/John_Joscelyn\" target=\"_blank\">John Joscelyn<\/a>&#8216;s work on manuscripts at Worcester in the sixteenth century.<\/li>\n<li>Malcolm Godden and Mildred Budny will report on projects which encompass work on Anglo-Saxon manuscripts made or owned by Worcester:\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/acmrs.org\/publications\/other\/asmmf\" target=\"_blank\">Anglo-Saxon Manuscripts in Microfiche Facsimile<\/a>; and the <a href=\"https:\/\/catalog.hathitrust.org\/Record\/000358705\" target=\"_blank\">Corpus of Insular and Anglo-Saxon Illuminated Manuscripts<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Photographic Exhibition Included<\/h3>\n<p>As by now customary for sessions of the Seminar elsewhere than at the Parker Library of Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, a travelling photographic exhibition accompanied the event.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">There will be a photographic exhibition of relevant manuscripts from the Parker Library.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/manuscriptevidence.org\/wpme\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/EPSON001-RGME-photography-Exhibition-label-1-cropped-for-Web.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-5851 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/manuscriptevidence.org\/wpme\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/EPSON001-RGME-photography-Exhibition-label-1-cropped-for-Web-300x212.png\" alt=\"Sign for Photographic Exhibitions of the Research Group on Manuscript Evidence, laid out in Adobe Garamond, with the Research Group logo in monochrome, and crediting the 'Photography by Mildred Budny'\" width=\"300\" height=\"212\" srcset=\"https:\/\/manuscriptevidence.org\/wpme\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/EPSON001-RGME-photography-Exhibition-label-1-cropped-for-Web-300x212.png 300w, https:\/\/manuscriptevidence.org\/wpme\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/EPSON001-RGME-photography-Exhibition-label-1-cropped-for-Web-150x106.png 150w, https:\/\/manuscriptevidence.org\/wpme\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/EPSON001-RGME-photography-Exhibition-label-1-cropped-for-Web-1024x723.png 1024w, https:\/\/manuscriptevidence.org\/wpme\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/EPSON001-RGME-photography-Exhibition-label-1-cropped-for-Web.png 1360w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>The exhibition was prepared by Mildred Budny and Leslie French.<\/p>\n<p>This illustrated element derives from the first of the Seminars at Oxford in the Series, demonstrating <a href=\"https:\/\/manuscriptevidence.org\/wpme\/seminar-on-the-evidence-of-manuscripts-20-june-1992\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;Research on Anglo-Saxon Manuscripts in Cambridge and Oxford&#8221;<\/a> (June 1992), whereby the Research Group brought a travelling exhibition of images to represent aspects of the materials and the research in hand. Soon after, similar exhibitions accompanied the <a href=\"https:\/\/manuscriptevidence.org\/wpme\/research-group-events-in-japan-november-and-december-1992\/\" target=\"_blank\">Research Group Visit to Japan in November and December 1992<\/a>. The return of the Series to Pembroke College for the Worcester Manuscripts Seminar naturally called for a photographic exhibition to represent the manuscripts by proxy, in honour of our host and his hospitality. Thus was strengthened the tradition of the Group&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/manuscriptevidence.org\/wpme\/photographic-exhibitions-masterclasses\/\" target=\"_blank\">Photographic Exhibitions &amp; Masterclasses<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Logistics and Refreshments<\/h3>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">The meeting will take place in Lecture Room 8 at Pembroke College.\u00a0 Coffee will be served from 10:30.\u00a0 The seminar will begin promptly at 11.\u00a0 A buffet lunch will be provided at Pembroke; (sadly) it will be necessary to charge \u00a35 for this.\u00a0 We expect to end at about 4:30.\u00a0 Space is limited so please let us know as soon as possible if you are coming.<\/p>\n<h3>Participants<\/h3>\n<p>Invitations were sent to:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">R.I. activities of the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Tremulous_Hand_of_Worcester\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;Tremulous Worcester Hand&#8221;<\/a> \u2014 responsible for annotations on MS 557, allowing an attribution to Worcester or its region for ownership or location in the 13th century.\u00a0 Similar progress pertains to other manuscripts and subjects explored in the Seminar on a calm Spring day in 1993 at Pembroke College.<\/p>\n<p>The occasion brought together scholars, teachers, and students from diverse backgrounds and with varied interests and expertise to consider complexities and connections concerned with some manuscripts made at Worcester in the Anglo-Saxon period or brought there from elsewhere, as revealed through the processes of copying, annotating,
