These elements take various forms, on paper, in photographs, in print, and in scanned materials.<\/p>\n<h3>Our Websites (2007\u2012)<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20140509232141im_\/http:\/\/manuscriptevidence.org\/data\/themes\/Manev\/header5.jpg\" alt=\"Header for the RGME website\" width=\"827\" height=\"123\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Our official website is a generous, long-term donation by our Webmaster, our Associate <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20190827202148\/http:\/\/toisondor.byu.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jesse D. Hurlbut<\/a>.\u00a0 Designed and maintained by Jesse, it is updated by our WebEditor, Mildred Budny, with contributions by Guest Bloggers and Administrators.\u00a0 It is one of our principal <a href=\"https:\/\/manuscriptevidence.org\/wpme\/profile\/publications\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Publications<\/a>, whose number continues to grow.<\/p>\n<h3>Our First Website (2007\u20122014)<\/h3>\n<p>From the first, once we received a website (2007\u2012), it began to report our activities variously in progress and in preparation.\u00a0 In a series of Pages, it published our Profile (formerly circulated only in print \u2014 as with the <a href=\"https:\/\/manuscriptevidence.org\/wpme\/download\/7619\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Profile dated October 1992<\/a> \u2014 but now online, with updates, starting with our Front Page).\u00a0 With our Mission statement on the Front Page, this first website presented a series of Pages outlined in its sidebar.\u00a0 It named our <a href=\"https:\/\/manuscriptevidence.org\/wpme\/profile\/officers-associates-and-volunteers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Officers, Associates, and Volunteers<\/a>, described our various events, listed our <a href=\"https:\/\/manuscriptevidence.org\/wpme\/profile\/publications\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Publications<\/a>, and more.<\/p>\n<p>That first website is archived in some &#8220;snapshots&#8221; by the <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/web\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wayback Machine<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20080324234104\/http:\/\/manuscriptevidence.org\/data\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">March 24, 2008<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20080525165027\/http:\/\/manuscriptevidence.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">May 25, 2008<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20110917042139\/http:\/\/manuscriptevidence.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">September 11, 2011<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20130211065228\/http:\/\/manuscriptevidence.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">February 11, 2013<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20130605165152\/http:\/\/manuscriptevidence.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">June 5, 2013<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20131211064002\/http:\/\/manuscriptevidence.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">December 11, 2013<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20131211064004\/http:\/\/manuscriptevidence.org\/data\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">January 2, 2014<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20140508203514\/http:\/\/manuscriptevidence.org\/data\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">May 8, 2014<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20140509232141\/http:\/\/manuscriptevidence.org\/data\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">May 9, 2014<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20140509232141\/http:\/\/manuscriptevidence.org\/data\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">May 17, 2014<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20141208213201\/http:\/\/manuscriptevidence.org\/data\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">December 8, 2014<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20141220075844\/http:\/\/manuscriptevidence.org\/data\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">December 17, 2014<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Thenceforth, the Wayback Machine has captured snapshots of our new website (You are Here), starting in June 2015.\u00a0 For example:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20150624031039\/http:\/\/manuscriptevidence.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">June 24, 2015<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In the transition between websites (2014), the first site (Drupal) remained active, as a site archived online and still accessible directly, while the second site (WordPress) was launched, albeit with some &#8220;teething problems&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>As preserved in a final snapshot via the Wayback Machine (<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20141220075844\/http:\/\/manuscriptevidence.org\/data\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">December 17, 2014<\/a>), the first site proclaimed its obsolescent state prominently at the top of the Front Page:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">PLEASE NOTE: \u00a0OUR WEBSITE IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION. \u00a0We are upgrading and redesigning our website. \u00a0While we transfer materials from this site (our first website), to the new one, it is now available for viewing: \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20141208213201\/http:\/\/www.manuscriptevidence.org\/wpme\/\"><strong>https:\/\/manuscriptevidence.org\/wpme\/<\/strong><\/a>). \u00a0The new site allows for images and other media, so that we can illustrate our activities and publish more of our materials.<\/p>\n<h3>Our Expanding Events<\/h3>\n<p>At that time in our history, when we could launch our first website in 2007, our principal activities in the form of scholarly gatherings focused upon <a href=\"https:\/\/manuscriptevidence.org\/wpme\/congress-activities\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Congress Activities<\/a> (1993\u20121995, 1997, and 2004\u2012), occurring at the annual International Congress of Medieval Studies (ICMS), held at Kalamazoo each May.<\/p>\n<p>Soon, we resumed the tradition of other events as well.<\/p>\n<p>For convenience, we have come to distinguish between these many\u00a0 sponsored and co-sponsored <a href=\"https:\/\/manuscriptevidence.org\/wpme\/congress-activities\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&#8220;Congress Activities&#8221;<\/a> (1993\u20121995, 1997, and 2004\u2012), which take place at the ICMS, and our other <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&#8220;Events&#8221;<\/a>, which occur elsewhere (1989\u2013). More recently, to our Congress or Convention Activities, we added <a href=\"https:\/\/manuscriptevidence.org\/wpme\/panels-at-the-m-mla-convention\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Panels at the M-MLA Convention<\/a> (2016\u2013).<\/p>\n<p>Those Events take the forms notably of <a href=\"https:\/\/manuscriptevidence.org\/wpme\/profile\/seminars-workshops-colloquia-and-symposia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Seminars, Workshops, Colloquia, and Symposia<\/a> (1989\u2013).\u00a0 Another group of Events comprises our <a href=\"https:\/\/manuscriptevidence.org\/wpme\/profile\/photographic-exhibitions-and-masterclasses\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Photographic Exhibitions and Masterclasses<\/a>. They overlap in significant ways with our growing list of <a href=\"https:\/\/manuscriptevidence.org\/wpme\/profile\/publications\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Publications<\/a>, which appear in print and electronic forms.<\/p>\n<p>By the time of our second website (You are Here), with the ability to add images and downloadable pdfs, we could report our current activities, record our history, illustrate our research, and extend our publications into digital forms.<\/p>\n<h3>Our Second Website (2014\u2013)<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/manuscriptevidence.org\/wpme\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/ArmenianCover_200dpi-with-border.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright wp-image-5613 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/manuscriptevidence.org\/wpme\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/ArmenianCover_200dpi-with-border-232x300.png\" alt=\"Cover for the Report on 'Two Detached Manuscript Leaves containing New Testament Texts in Old Armenian' by Leslie J. See <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20150801000000*\/http:\/\/manuscriptevidence.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">manuscriptevidence.org<\/a> there.\u00a0 Thus the Internet Archive contributes (arbitrarily) to the records of our history outside our own sphere.\u00a0 As of 28 April, 2020, the most recent snapshot was made for<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20190808010238\/http:\/\/manuscriptevidence.org\/wp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"broken_link\">August 8, 2019<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>With the upgrade and redesign of our website (launched in 2014), we could display more materials, in both images and downloadable pdfs. This opened the path to set up <a href=\"https:\/\/manuscriptevidence.org\/wpme\/galleries-contents-list\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Galleries<\/a> of Images, for example to show you the <a href=\"https:\/\/manuscriptevidence.org\/wpme\/ghent-seals-gallery\/rgme-posters-display\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Posters<\/a> for our Events and our Congress Activities, to exhibit examples of our <a href=\"https:\/\/manuscriptevidence.org\/wpme\/ghent-seals-gallery\/layout-designs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Layout Designs<\/a>, to display Photographs from our Events, Activities, and Research Discoveries, and to give you more of our <a href=\"https:\/\/manuscriptevidence.org\/wpme\/profile\/publications\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Publications<\/a>, including the Program Booklets for Events and Activities and the Booklets publishing some of our Research Discoveries.<\/p>\n<h3>Other Social Media<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/Research-Group-on-Manuscript-Evidence\/259443617456668\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"broken_link\">Research Group on Manuscript Evidence<\/a> Page on <strong>Facebook<\/strong> (2011\u2013).<br \/>\nSet up and maintained principally by Mildred Budny.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Seminars, Workshops, Colloquia &amp; Symposia (1989\u2012)<\/h3>\n<p>One of the first phases of the process of opening the Research Group Archives for our website focused upon the Early Years of our Seminars, Workshops, and Symposia, which occurred regularly as part of the collaborative Research Project at the Parker Library of Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, from which the Research Group on Manuscript Evidence emerged. This &#8220;First Series&#8221; was principally dedicated to <a href=\"https:\/\/manuscriptevidence.org\/wpme\/seminars-on-the-evidence-of-manuscripts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Seminars on &#8220;The Evidence of Manuscripts&#8221;<\/a> (1989\u20121995). Photograph \u00a9 Mildred Budny.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Following the move of our principal base to the Princeton in 1994, we developed a wide-ranging further series of <a href=\"https:\/\/manuscriptevidence.org\/wpme\/profile\/seminars-workshops-colloquia-and-symposia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Seminars, Workshops, Colloquia, and Symposia<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>First among them was the annual series of <a href=\"https:\/\/manuscriptevidence.org\/wpme\/symposia-on-the-transmission-of-the-bible\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Symposia on &#8220;The Transmission of the Bible&#8221;<\/a> (1995\u20122000), held in turn at Princeton, Rutgers, and Fordham Universities.<\/p>\n<p>There followed the <a href=\"https:\/\/manuscriptevidence.org\/wpme\/the-new-series\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The New Series<\/a> of Symposia, Colloquia, Workshops &amp; Seminars (2001\u2013), held at a variety of centers, including Princeton University.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/manuscriptevidence.org\/wpme\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/RGME-MEMS-Poster1-Crusading-with-border.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-7148\" src=\"https:\/\/manuscriptevidence.org\/wpme\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/RGME-MEMS-Poster1-Crusading-with-border-232x300.jpg\" alt=\"Poster for 'Crusading and the Byzantine Legacy&quot; Session 1 of the RGME MEMS Sessions.
