Following Part 1<\/a>, we continue the display of the leaves \u2014 or rather bisected half-leaves<\/strong> \u2014 in a Sinhalese<\/a> Palm-Leaf Manuscript<\/a> now in a private collection. The fragment apparently presents a single Buddhist<\/a> text, albeit in a disordered sequence with some gaps.\u00a0 The text is not yet identified.<\/p>\n

The manuscript is written, from left to right, in Sinhalese script (see Sinhala_script<\/a>) upon palm-leaves.\u00a0 The language is mostly likely Pali (a guide: Pali<\/a>).\u00a0 At present, the 33 half-leaves are strung on string or cord through a single stringing hole, ending in a simple beveled rectangular cover.\u00a0 The text is written in single columns of 5 to 8 lines per column.<\/p>\n

A match for the specimen in terms of script appears here, with transliteration of its text:<\/p>\n
